Karen Saylor, MD, FACP

Dr. Saylor is committed to providing comprehensive and patient-centered geriatric care, having dedicated her practice to older adults for over 20 years. She values working collaboratively with families and caregivers to enhance patients' independence and quality of life.  Her clinical interests include geriatric health and wellness, chronic disease management, dementia care, medication management and deprescribing, and palliative and end-of-life care.  

Experience & Education

Dr. Saylor is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, with over 20 years of experience in the care of older adults across outpatient, subacute, and long-term care settings.  A native of New York, she received her BS from Stony Brook University and her MD from Upstate Medical University. After her Internal Medicine residency at the Medical Center of Delaware, she completed her Geriatric Fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle before returning east to eventually settle in Maine in 2015.  

In addition to her clinical contributions, Dr Saylor has assumed leadership roles in the medical community. She has served as Board Chair and President of the Maine Medical Association and is currently the President-Elect of the New England Regional Direct Primary Care Alliance. These roles underscore her commitment to both patient care and broader initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery and accessibility.
