Emily Harrington FNP - C
Emily is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), and holds a national certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her academic journey includes obtaining an undergraduate nursing degree at the University of Southern Maine with a double minor in biology and holistic health, and completing a master’s degree at Saint Joseph’s College. Emily has half a decade of nursing experience to precede her transition to the NP role, having worked in a variety of settings from inpatient hospitalization to home health visitation.
Emily specializes in working with geriatric patients, a field she finds extremely rewarding. Her approach to patient care is centered on tailoring treatments to the individual with a focus on promoting wellness and helping each patient achieve their health goals.
Beyond her formal education, Emily completed a 1-year herbalism apprenticeship prior to attending graduate school and she incorporates this experience with her patients, underscoring her dedication to a comprehensive and patient-centric approach to healthcare.
Emily is thrilled to be a part of the Coastal Maine Direct Care family and is currently accepting new patients 18 years and older.

Stephen L. Saylor PA-C, CWS
Stephen is a NCCPA board certified Physician Assistant and wound care specialist bringing 26 years of clinical experience to our team. His diverse background encompasses primary care medicine, chronic disease management, sports medicine, orthopedics, dermatology, surgical wound care, and personal training.
A lifelong competitive athlete, Stephen is passionate about health, fitness, and personal training, elements he incorporates into his approach to medical care. He is dedicated to helping others achieve their health and wellness goals.
Stephen is a healthcare provider who values time, understanding, and a holistic perspective. If you are tired of rushed appointments and hastily written prescriptions, and want a healthcare provider who will comprehensively understand your concerns and the intersection of diet, exercise and medical care, Stephen is the ideal choice.
Outside of clinical work, he enjoys Alpine skiing, cross country skiing, track and field and long distance ultra trail running.
Karen Saylor, MD, FACP
Dr. Saylor is a board-certified internal medicine and geriatrician, dedicating 20 years of experience in the care of older adults across outpatient, subacute, and long-term care settings. Her expertise encompasses a wide spectrum of clinical interests including geriatric health and wellness, chronic disease management, dementia care, medication review, and palliative and end-of-life care.
In addition to her clinical contributions, Dr Saylor has assumed leadership roles in the medical community. She has served as president of the Maine Medical Association and is currently the president-elect of the New England Regional Direct Primary Care Alliance. These roles underscore her commitment to both patient care and broader initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery and accessibility.
Dr Saylor values the opportunity to collaboratively engage with families and caregivers. Her goal is to enhance patients' independence and quality of life, aligning with her commitment to comprehensive and patient-centered geriatric care.
